Ferdy Unger-Hamilton, one of many UK’s prime artists and repertoire executives and former president of Columbia Data UK, has rubbished claims that reggae artiste Koffee was dropped by RCA Data.
Allegations that Koffee, who received the Grammy Award for Greatest Reggae Album in 2020 — the youngest particular person and solely lady to take action — was dropped by RCA, dominated blogs in latest weeks.
In an interview with the
Jamaica Observer’s
Splash on Wednesday, Unger-Hamilton mentioned: “Koffee is, and has at all times been, signed with Promised Land Data. Promised Land’s cope with Sony ended over two years in the past, and we [Promised Land] at the moment are distributed by Virgin,” Unger-Hamilton said.
Promised Land Data had a distribution cope with the Sony-affiliated RCA and Columbia. Koffee was by no means straight signed to both label.

Gifted, have been each launched by Promised Land Data, which is owned by Unger-Hamilton.
He stepped down as president at Columbia Data in late 2022.
Throughout his six years at Columbia UK, Unger-Hamilton scored chart success with the likes of Robbie Williams, Rag‘n’Bone Man, and George Ezra.
Previous to his stint at Columbia UK, Unger-Hamilton labored at Island Data, after which moved on to Polydor for seven years as president, the place he oversaw the success of Ellie Goulding, Lana Del Rey, Take That, The 1975, amongst different stellar British acts.
