Birmingham bin strikes five weeks on

Birmingham residents have been queuing up of their automobiles for miles with a view to eliminate their garbage. This comes as bin strikes enter a fifth week, as a serious incident is said by town council.

Reporting from a group level in Billesley, BBC Midlands’ David Lumb described the stench as “thick within the air”.

Requested about residents’ hopes that there might be a short lived halt to the strike motion, Unite regional officer Zoe Mayou mentioned “not for now”.

The union representing hanging employees says the council is forcing some employees on to pay ranges barely above the minimal wage – the council maintains it has made a good and cheap supply.

In the meantime, a neighbouring council has said it will help clear the backlog of waste in Birmingham.
