    Charges dismissed against man accused of shooting at neighbour | News

    A Kingston bearer is now free after being acquitted of firing a gun at his neighbour in a home dispute.

    Fifty-three-year-old Wayne Chambers was discovered not responsible of unlawful possession of firearm and capturing with intent following a trial that ended on Friday earlier than Justice Simone Wolfe-Reece within the Gun Court docket.

    The Crown led proof that on September 1, 2022, round 9:15 pm, the complainant was trying to drive into his dwelling within the Dunkirk space when he was stopped by Chambers and an argument developed.

    Chambers then reportedly went for a gun and fired a single shot on the complainant.

    Shortly after the alleged incident, the complainant reported the matter.

    Nonetheless, through the trial, Chambers’ lawyer, Chadwick Berry, challenged the witness’ credibility and his account of the alleged capturing.

    He pointed to the witness’ testimony that he was in his car when Chambers aimed a gun at his head after which he felt a vibration on the steering.

    Berry prompt that it was extremely not possible for the occasion to unfold because the witness had indicated in mild of the proof.

    The lawyer argued that no spent shell was recovered or was any injury prompted to the car or the complainant.

    The one injury indicated by the complainant Berry highlighted was to the underside of his steering wheel cowl.
