    Grand Slam Track: Welteji wins Short Distance title in Kingston

    KINGSTON, Jamaica — Ethiopa’s Diribe Welteji with 20 factors is the Ladies’s Quick Distance champion after successful the 1500m in 4:04.51 minutes on Saturday on the Grand Slam Monitor meet in Kingston.

    Welteji got here into the race with eight factors after ending second Friday within the 800m. Welteji walked away with US$100,000 for her six minutes of working.

    American Nikki Hiltz with 18 factors was second and picked up US$50,000 after ending third within the 1500m in 4:05.39. Susan Ejore was second in 4:05.10 and completed third general with 12 factors and US$30,000.

    Jamaica’s Natoya Goule-Toppin limped house within the 1500m in 4:20.73, assisted to the end by the house followers in seventh spot. She completed with 5 factors general after getting three factors Friday evening for her sixth-placed end within the 800m. Goule-Toppin will pocket US$12,500 or J$1.9m for her two races.
