Coach Richard Azan’s meticulous planning paid off as his cost Hansa delivered a shocking efficiency to win the thirty second staging of the $1.75-million Thornbird Stakes, showcasing her velocity and expertise in a decisive victory that solidifies her credentials for the Traditional collection.

Hansa showcased her expertise by coming from behind runners to steal victory within the Graded Stakes contest for native-bred three-year-old fillies. Hansa, ridden by Tajay Suckoo, sat properly behind the runners earlier than altering gears and surging ahead to assert victory. Hansa beat Social Aviator (Robert Halledeen) and Danka (Romane Gordon) by a size and three-quarters, ending in 1:28.half-hour.

The Thornbird Stakes was one of many main prep races on the ‘Highway to the Triple Crown’ collection of races.

Azan was thrilled with Hansa’s victory.

“She gained the final time in February; she is just not a giant filly so we didn’t wish to run her again so rapidly. So we had been this race and we had programmed her primarily based on the date and all different issues,” Azan instructed the Jamaica Observer’s
    The Supreme Racing Information.

“She educated very well coming into the race and I had anticipated her to run how she ran at this time. Passing the three furlongs she wished to make her transfer and she or he got here down in a short time and really decisively. She then went to the lead and gained and that was that. That was the plan.

“I’m virtually positive that the jockey can be aboard for the 1000 Guineas. Let’s hope that all the pieces goes properly. She is a horse and she or he is a Traditional horse and hope that I’m proper,” Azan added.

After being unable to contest the early tempo, Hansa settled mid-pack, biding her time as Miss MoneyPenny (Shane Ellis) set the tempo down the backstretch forward of Woman Babita (Tajay Suckoo), Social Aviator, and Linguist (Reyan Lewis).
Hansa continued to bide her time as the sphere approached the half-mile (800m) and tempo elevated.

Social Aviator took over as the gap approached with Linguist, Hansa, and Danka (Romane Gordon) chasing coming off the flip for residence bend. As the sphere turned for residence, Hansa produced a robust run from the skin on her method to declare victory.
