The general public is being suggested that as a result of ongoing industrial motion by the Jamaica City Transit Firm Restricted (JUTC) drivers in Rockfort, Kingston and Portmore and Spanish City in St Catherine depots delays are anticipated.
In an announcement, JUTC says the drivers off the job are these represented by the College and Allied Staff Union [UAWU]
The bus firm explains that the motion is in response to an incident involving two staff from UAWU, which is at the moment below investigation.
It says the administration has taken preliminary steps to deal with the matter, together with the non permanent reassignment of the concerned staff whereas sustaining their employment advantages.
These measures have been communicated to all related events, with assurances that applicable motion might be taken upon the conclusion of the investigation, it added.
“Whereas we acknowledge the issues raised, we consider the economic motion is pointless, because the matter is being dealt with with due course of.
“The demand for quick termination of staff and not using a full investigation shouldn’t be a plan of action the corporate can take.”
JUTC says the withdrawal of service by the drivers will end in disruptions on a number of routes.
The JUTC says it’s implementing contingency measures to minimise the influence on commuters, and additional updates might be supplied because the state of affairs develops.
