The demise of a fruit vendor is now being investigated by the detectives in Port Antonio, Portland after the seller was fatally shot close to Lighthouse Street yesterday.
A preliminary police report means that shortly after 7:30 a.m. a person identified solely as Jason was standing at his stall peeling fruits when a person reportedly alighted from a black Mark X motor automobile and allegedly opened gunfire.
Following the taking pictures, the automobile reportedly drove away with the shooter aboard.
The police had been summoned and, upon their arrival, the fruit vendor was seen mendacity immobile on the bottom with what gave the impression to be a number of gunshot wounds to the chest. He was pronounced lifeless on the scene by a physician.
It’s understood that one other man, who was standing near the stall, was later discovered hiding in a river mattress.
