Skip Marley is again together with his newest single, Shut, his first observe below Tuff Gong Worldwide/Def Jam Recordings.
The tune, together with an official music video directed by Gabriella Kingsley, honors Maxi Priest’s basic Shut To You by interpolating its iconic refrain.
The beat, produced by Rykeyz (famous for work with Jessie Reyez, Demi Lovato, and Wiz Khalifa), samples The Soul Searchers’ 1972 breakbeat gem Ashley’s Roachclip, one of the most sampled instrumentals in hip-hop.
“It’s fashionable, however it pays homage to Maxi Priest. I beloved the thought of bringing this nice tune to the brand new era,” Marley shared in a launch to DancehallMag. “On one hand, I’m reminiscing a couple of lady.
